At the end of June Emily & Michael were able to celebrate their “I Do, Take Two” wedding day! They had planned last year to have a smaller intimate family wedding at Mount St. Mary’s and the next day would be their big celebration with all their friends & family. Like most weddings last year, the big celebration had to be rescheduled, but that just meant I was lucky to be able to celebrate with them TWO years in a row! On a hot Sunday in June they renewed their vows at the beautiful Silver Swan Bayside and celebrated the night away!
While walking around the property earlier that day a young man ha approached us to ask if we were doing a wedding that day. We got to talking and he had mentioned his family had a Skipjack boat over in the marina. Of course i had to throw in a little “ooh, think we can use it?” comment. He laughed and said he would ask his parents. Later that afternoon he came and found us to say that his parents said YES! We could use their Skipjack for portraits! We were SO excited. Thank you SO much to Jeff, Janet & Dillion for allowing us the opportunity to photograph on board your beautiful Skipjack, ‘Lady Helen’. It was the PERFECT touch for Emily & Michael’s bayside wedding. For those that don’t know a Skipjack is a traditional fishing boat that was primarily used on the Chesapeake Bay for oyster dredging. Skipjacks originated in the late 1800’s which had this 1800’s history obsessed photographer super happy!
